The Insightful Way™ exists to move people from deficit to investment — from seeing themselves as problems to be managed to understanding themselves as assets to be developed.
Before the model, you need a situation. Not a story from years ago. Not a hypothetical. Something real that is happening in your life right now — a moment where the F*ck It feeling is present or recently was. This is what you'll run through all four steps today.
My check-in — one word or sentence for where I'm coming in from
The situation I'm bringing into this session today
Before you can respond to a F*ck It moment you have to name it precisely. Not the story you're telling yourself about it — what is actually happening. What triggered this? What did you feel? What did you tell yourself in that moment? Facts only. No interpretation yet.
Name the moment
"What exactly happened — and what did I immediately tell myself about it?"
Write what happened in one or two sentences. Then write the exact sentence your internal voice used to describe it. Not the polished version. The raw one that showed up first.
What actually happened (facts only):
What I immediately told myself:
What healing capital domain took the hit? (circle one)
Mental · Emotional · Spiritual · Social · Time · Recovery · Economic · Cultural · Support
The F*ck It moment is almost never about the moment itself. It is a pattern activating. Something in what happened triggered a belief that has been running underneath — about who you are, what you deserve, what is possible for you. Observe means stepping back far enough to see the pattern instead of just feeling it.
See the pattern
"What is this moment actually about — and where have I seen this pattern before?"
Separate what happened from what you told yourself it means. One is a fact. One is an interpretation. The pattern lives in the interpretation — in the belief that activated the moment this happened.
What happened (fact):
What I told myself it means (interpretation / story):
The pattern underneath — where have I seen this belief show up before?
The belief the pattern is built on (one sentence):
Not a strategy. Not a transformation. One move. The plan step of the Rapid IOPT model is not about solving everything — it is about breaking the pattern's momentum with a single deliberate action that came from choice rather than reaction. Small. Bounded. Yours.
One next right move
"What is the smallest action I can take today that moves toward investment instead of away from it?"
The plan has three rules: it must be specific, it must be within your control, and it must be doable today or this week. No grand gestures. No complete turnarounds. One move that demonstrates Capital Identity™ — that you are worth investing in even when the F*ck It moment says otherwise.
The belief I'm choosing NOT to keep investing in:
The one move I'm choosing instead (specific, in my control, doable this week):
What this move is building in my healing capital:
What would need to be true for this move to actually happen?
Track is not accountability to someone else. It is evidence collection for yourself. When you track the move you planned — whether it happened, what it produced, what it cost — you are building a body of evidence that you are an investor. That evidence is Capital Identity™ in real time.
Collect the evidence
"How will I know I made the move — and what will I do with that evidence?"
Set a specific day and time to check in with yourself on the move you planned. Not to judge whether you did it perfectly — to collect honest data about what happened and what that data tells you about your investment.
I will check in on this move on (day / time):
If the move happened — what I will notice:
If the move didn't happen — what I will do instead of going into F*ck It:
What this data tells me about my healing capital development:
The Rapid IOPT model doesn't just interrupt the F*ck It moment. It installs Capital Identity™ — the settled sense that you are worth investing in even when the moment says you're not. Look back at the four steps you just completed. Something survived. Name it.
"I ran my situation through all four steps and what I found about myself is..."
That is Capital Identity™. You generated it. Not the model. You.
In Lab 1 you wrote: "I am someone who...
After running today's F*ck It moment through the model — does that statement still hold? Does it need to grow? Write one sentence about what you know now about that person that you didn't know in Lab 1.
Write it. Say it when it's your turn.
